In every organization, effective people management is very important. And like every other part of your business: if you don’t measure it, you can’t improve it.
What is the STAR Workplace Program?
The STAR Workplace Program is a tool that helps businesses access and measure key business and employee management metrics to find out the answer to the following questions:
- How is the team performing and implementing specific strategies in your company?
- How satisfied are your employees in a workplace?
- What actions and processes are in place to retain employees?
- What results are you achieving through your company performance and how can you improve it?
Knowing the answer to these questions is very crucial for the growth of any organization.
It uses a set of processes to gather information from both the employer and the employees. The main assessment includes:
- Interview survey of Employer.
- A confidential survey of Employees.
The STAR Workplace Report is most useful when it is used with a workplace improvement program and a 12-month HR Plan based on the National Human Resource Framework.

STAR Methodology – How it really work?
Most businesses rely on employee surveys to measure the satisfaction of their employees. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The problem is much deeper.
The STAR Workplace program helps in measuring employee satisfaction using the following key drivers:
- Employee Alignment.
- Employee Commitment.
- Employee Loyalty.
- Employee Performance.
This is done by following a proven step by step strategy:
- i) First you have a meeting and consultation with a STAR practitioner to understand your business and what goals do you have for your employees. It also clarifies the key metrics that drive the business and measures the satisfaction of the main executives.
- ii) Next, all your employees have to complete a survey, either online or offline. This is an anonymous survey so that your employees can express themselves freely. Anonymity is the key to getting the best results. However, we do ask them important questions like their gender, role or position in the company, etc. This helps you understand their demography.
Typically around 30 strategic questions and 10 custom questions are asked in this survey. You as an employer can add specific questions as well according to your needs.
iii) After all the data is received and compiled, and a comprehensive report is prepared and presented to you in a two-hour-long presentation covering all the important points thoroughly. It also provides you with a plan and a strategy to improve those key metrics.
How is the STAR Workplace program different from other alternatives out there?
Most of those surveys or programs just focus on employee satisfaction. But that, as mentioned earlier is just the tip of the iceberg. The STAR Workplace program measures a lot of other important factors like your satisfaction as an employer, employee alignment, the culture of your business against the National HR Framework. It also shows you the areas you need to focus on to get the fastest growth.
